Inter National Bank (INB) was founded in 1985 and became a division of Banorte Financial Group in 2006. In March 2017, the Collins family purchased Inter National Bank from Banorte, placing ownership of the institution back in the hands of the family who helped start it more than 30 years ago.

Sam Munafo brings with him a wealth of bank management and leadership experience. His career began in 1972 with First National Bank and Trust in Hamilton, Ohio. Throughout his career he has held leadership positions with several prominent Midwestern institutions, among them The Clyde Savings Bank and Indiana Lawrence Bank.
In 2001, Mr. Munafo was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Community First Bank and Trust in Celina, Ohio. Four years later, he returned to Hamilton, Ohio to assist in the consolidation of three regional charters into First Financial Bank Corporation (FFB). Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Banking Officer of FFB, a publicly traded firm. FFB’s flagship subsidiary, First Financial Bank, operates over 125 branches in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Mr. Munafo holds an Accounting degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School as well as the Graduate School of Banking, a school that is sponsored by the Central States Conference of Bankers Association. He was a class instructor for the Ohio Bankers Association as well as serving on the Governmental Affairs Division of the Ohio Bankers League.
Mr. Munafo’s community involvement has included service as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Hospice, United Way, local hospitals and various other community organizations. He also served as Chairman of the Board for the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and on the Advisory Board for the Miami University School of Business.
Amy Birt has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Inter National Bank since September 2014. With over 25 years of accounting and finance experience she has spent her last 18 years with financial institutions, both public and private, ranging in size from start-up de novo banks to institutions over $500 billion in assets. She has successfully lead teams in transforming and advancing key business strategies.
Ms. Birt received her Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University and received her Master’s in Accounting specializing in Tax from the University of North Florida. Ms. Birt is a licensed CPA (Florida).
Ms. Birt has served as Treasurer of the Downtown Pregnancy Center and has served on the Accounting Council of the Financial Managers Society. Amy enjoys traveling and being with her family. She has two daughters, a son-in-law, and one amazing grandson.
Marin Espinosa has an extensive background in international banking with a strong emphasis in personal banking relationship management. He has over 25 years of experience in building strong relationships with international clients to offer them deposit and lending services.
Mr. Espinosa earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1981 with a concentration in Marketing at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
With more than 33 years in regulatory bank supervision, all with the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Mr. Long has been directly involved in community bank oversight. He possess a broad set of skills with experience in a wide-variety of banking activities.
Mr. Long joined the OCC in March 1977 and became a commissioned National Bank Examiner in 1983. Mr. Long graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM with a degree in finance.
Mary Lou Vicencio is a Rio Grande Valley native with over 18 years of banking experience. Her background and expertise lie in the areas of Information Technology, Operations, Compliance and Project Management. With her extensive training and education in core processing software, she has helped design programs and solutions for various financial institutions. Ms. Vicencio is a highly motivated leader charged with managing numerous departments within INB bank operations.
Karen Garcia-Bustilloz moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1972. She began her banking career in 1979 at a bank based in Harlingen, TX. She has over 35 years of banking experience and has worked in multiple areas of the banking sector, including Data Processing, Information Technology, Information Security (Information Security Officer (ISO)), Physical Security (Security Officer), Accounting, Operations (Chief Operations Officer) and Bank Secrecy (Certified BSA Officer), just to name a few. Ms. Garcia-Bustilloz worked in Data Processing for over 16 years where she converted many banks throughout the state of Texas. Her expertise is in the management and training of banking systems.
Ms. Garcia-Bustilloz has served on numerous Banking Committees and has also served as Secretary to the Board of Directors. She attended Texas Tech School of Banking.
