JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the organization and production of loan files for pre-funding review.  Works closely with the Borrower, Lender, lending assistant, title companies, and attorneys to gather all pertinent Borrower information, approval, and collateral information for submittal to the loan department for final review and funding of a loan.  


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Assist and support lending officers in ordering loan documentation for the closing of approved loans.
2. Assist and support lending officers in gathering information to perfect liens; order lien searches and title commitments.
3. Review loan approvals, preparing a loan worksheet with accurate customer information, loan codes, collateral description, loan amount, terms, and purpose.
4. Review loan approvals to ensure information is complete, follows up to obtain missing data.
5. Responsible for the organization of electronic loan files for pre-funding review
6. Responsible for ordering appraisals and surveys
7. Prepare closing instructions to send to attorneys or title companies
8. Must have general knowledge of real estate sales contracts
9. Assist in compiling loan documentation, sending closing instructions, ordering appraisals, lien searches and surveys, and coordinating closing of the loans for Commercial Business Banking department.
10. Assist in compiling loan documentation, sending closing instructions, ordering appraisals, lien searches and surveys, and coordinating closing of the loans for the Small Business Administration department.
11. Assist with loans documentation for complex structures which include hotels, retail strip centers, multi-family apartment complexes, and warehouses.
12. Assist in gathering all loan documents related to the purchase of participations.  Work closely with the lender to organize the electronic loan file for pre-funding review for closing participation loans.
13. Gathering all corporate documentation to identify the ownership structure to determine who the final beneficiary is of the entity being used as our borrower or guarantor.
14. Must have knowledge of all federal loan regulations pertaining to real estate and consumer lending which include but not limited to Reg B (Right to Receive an Appraisal and Consumer Denials), Reg C (HMDA), Reg H (Flood Insurance), CRA and Reg Z.
15. Must have general knowledge of Texas Real Estate Law.
16. Must have general knowledge of title commitments and title policies.
17. Must have general knowledge of land surveys and ability to review a survey to verify the legal descriptions of properties held as collateral.
18. Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations, which include BSA, CIP, and OFAC requirements as they apply.  Assist on complex relationships with multiple borrowers and guarantors with due diligence by pulling OFAC, World Compliance, and Google Searches to satisfy the Beneficial Ownership policy and the “Know Your Customer” policy. This includes sending all information to BSA for their final approval as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

• Requires High School Diploma
• 1-2 years of experience in the banking field
• 1-5 years of experience in the lending assistant field (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Strong organizational skills; interpersonal, communications, customer relations, manage priorities and work flow
• Able to multi-task
• Knowledge of Real Estate, Commercial and Consumer loan documentation
• Excellent customer service skills
• Independent and self-motivated
• Be able to maintain high level of credibility with all levels of internal and external customers
